About US
Within the CGRB, the Health Data and Informatics (HDI) Center is focused on developing and coordinating services and training for researchers whose research involves collecting, managing, integrating, and analyzing diverse biomedical and health-related data. We will also be reaching out and engaging external stakeholders with interests in data-intensive biomedical and health research and education.
Resources
In Development
Help us identify what resources you need to manage the health data in your research.
Initial resource development includes establishment of research data management system, known as REDCap, Research Data Capture, a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases.
While REDCap can be used to collect virtually any type of data, our implementation will initially support only coded data (limited data sets with no direct identifiers refer to HIPAA requirements). It is specifically geared to support online or offline data capture for research studies and operations. More information is at Project REDCap
Training
In Development
Initial educational programs focus on good research data practices via mini online seminars.
Future programs will focus on facilitating use of REDCAP for collecting and managing research data, data linkage approaches, and data management for protected health data (PHI).
