Important news regarding Workday changes, RELMS and availability of CQLS services and equipment.
With OSU’s changeover to Workday, RELMS will be undergoing a shutdown in the beginning of July and will be completely unavailable from July 1-5. RELMS should be available again on July 6th. Laboratory staff will also have no access and won’t be able to view or process orders via RELMS during that shutdown period.
RELMS calendars for scheduling also will not be available for viewing or reserving time from July 1-5th.
The shutdown also coincides with the pricing changes that occur July 1st. All work completed by June 30th will have the current pricing while all work completed July 1st or later will have new pricing. Anything uncompleted by June 30th will be repriced with the new pricing even if ordered prior to July 1st. New pricing will be available on the CQLS website once approved by OSU.
Some important hints with regards to placing orders
Illumina services: Continue to email Mark Dasenko regarding the projects that he is working on and timing of those projects. Work on these projects will continue during the RELMS shutdown.
Custom services such as RNA extraction, long read sequencing, or other custom preps or GBS: contact the person you usually work with on these services or email lab@cqls.oregonstate.edu.
Orders that you usually place in RELMS yourself including Sanger Sequencing, Genotyping on ABI 3730, Bioanalyzer, TapeStation, QC services, and DNA extractions should be placed by Friday June 26th or earlier so that we may complete them before the end of the month. You may place orders in RELMS until June 30th however any order placed after June 26th may not be run until after July 6th.
Instrument Reservations in RELMS
Plan ahead if you need to reserve time for equipment between July 1-5 or the week of July 6th. Reservations can be made into July, however you won’t be able to view, delete or create new ones during the shutdown period of July 1-5. If you would like to reserve time or work on the instruments during that shutdown period, please contact Anne-Marie Girard or lab@cqls.oregonstate.edu. For the shutdown period reservations will either be posted by the instrument or in an alternate form online. More information to follow closer to that date.
